What is Vishnsu Yoga?

Vishnu Yoga is one of the yogas mentioned in B.V. Raman's book 300 Important Combination. Vishnu is part of tridev(holy trinity) in Hinduism with Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver and Shiva the destroyer.

Shri Hari Vishnu is given the task to protect, preserve and sustain the universe. Its only natural that yoga associated with him happens in second house which provides protection of family, preservation of wealth and savings for sustenance.

How is Vishnu Yoga formed?

Vishnu Yoga requires Main Chart(D-1 Chart) and Navamsha Chart(D-9 Chart). For Vishnu Yoga to occur in horoscope the following conditions must be fulfilled:

  • Lord of ninth house should be in second house in Main Chart.
  • Lord of tenth house should also be placed in second house.
  • Lord of Navamsha Sign where ninth lord is placed should also occupy second house.

Remarks On Vishnu Yoga

Classical astrology states Raj Yoga occurs in horoscope when lord of a quadrant(Vishnu Sthana) and lord of a trine(Laxmi Sthana) are co-tenants in same house. As such there is a guarantee of Raj Yoga even if you ignore Navamsha Chart as lord of trine(ninth house) and lord of quadrant(tenth house) will be together in second house.

This yoga maybe far more beneficial in Cancer, Virgo, Sagittarius, Capricorn and Pisces Ascendant as ninth lord and tenth lord will be friendly planets and placed in a strong sign. Lord of tenth house placed in second house generally implies career which involves speech or finances.
