Most people who follow vedic astrology know there are nine planets. Placements and aspects of these nine planets is largely used to give a prediction. Modern day interpretation also uses Neptune, Uranus and Pluto to some extent. Some of the knowledge regarding the nine planets is known to all but there are also things which are less known or there is confusion about it. Below are some basics and other lesser known information regarding the nine planets.

Note: Following information is based of Bhrigu Samhita which is an ancient reputed text by Sage Bhrigu who had done extensive research on astrology. Information on Rahu and Ketu has inconsistencies across multiple sources so we won't add them here.

Note: There are differing opinions on Rahu and Ketu signs, exaltion and debilitation. So its best not to add them here to reduce confusion.

Note: Mool-Trikona is the degrees in which planet is considered super strong. Remaining degree is called swakshetra means own location. Planet near exaltion degree is considered super strong while planet near debilitation degree is considered super weak.

Bhagyoday means rise of luck. Planets mature after a certain age and start giving good fruits. So if a planet is strong than he would start giving good fruits after specified period of life has passed. For example Saturn turns lucky after 36 years if he is strong in horoscope.

Normally rings should be wore on right hands. If a person is a leftist than he/she can wear on left hand.
